About Us

Our Troop was first chartered in 1997.  Part of the Mt. Diablo-Silverado Council, our home base is at the Elks Lodge (#1811) in Walnut Creek, California. Our scouts come from Walnut Creek schools as well as Alamo, Lafayette, Pleasant Hill and Concord schools.

In addition to our annual weeklong summer camp at Wolfeboro, in the Sierra Nevadas, we hike and camp all around the Greater Bay Area. Our troop pursues the Rim of the Bay hiking awards and Path of the Paddle patch and rockers.

Our troop is a "boy run" troop, older scouts lead the troop and guide younger scouts with planning and execution of activities.  Our scout masters help oversee activies and guide the boys.

The troop has a strong parent committee that meets monthly, generally the 2nd Tuesday of the month, to help with the business side of the troop.

Troop 1811 has a strong advancement program. Our young troop has had more than 12% of our scouts earn the coveted Eagle Scout awards.

We invite you to any of our troop meetings to see what exciting things we are doing.
